One of our team, Elena Bochukova, will be taking up a position as a Lecturer in the Centre for Genomics at the Blizard Institute, part of Barts and The Royal London School of Medicine.
This position will allow Elena to develop her independent research interests in gene regulation, following on from her work on snoRNAs in GOOS. She will also be involved in teaching at the Medical School and work with a number of excellent colleagues in the genetics of human disease.
Getting a Group Leader/PI position is very challenging and competitive, more so in tough economic times when universities are under pressure to deliver impactful research. It is therefore a great achievement to be offered this post, a reflection of Elena's talents and her work with many members of the GOOS team.
